Back To Durango and the Trout
After an extended Pickerel Holiday, I returned to a very warm Durango. The river today was very clear and moving slow. 176 CFS to be exact. We fished at Chad's for a while with no luck. I was in the middle of saying "I guess they've all moved on to deeper water" when I hooked but quickly lost a fish, he didn't feel enormous. We headed up to conglamorate rock and both caught nice fish, mine around 15" and Chad's around 18" Chad's fish took a really big mayfly, size 16 extra long, mine took a size 24 midge pupa below a pink egg. The midge was tan. Glad to be home! Now I need a waterproof camera.
